LED LS-400 STEERABLE SEARCHLIGHT

Offering light in both the Infra-Red and visible spectrum, the system is designed for today’s complex special mission environment and is particularly popular with Law Enforcement, Search & Rescue (SAR), Military / Defence applications, Border Protection, Oil & Gas Transportation, Emergency Services and Aerial Surveillance teaks.

With a service life of over 10,000 hours, the LS-400 LED steerable searchlight has essentially removed the need to replace a bulb or lamp over the life of a helicopter. The LS400 is so reliable that over time the operator stands to save substantial costs, minimise maintenance and significantly increase operational capability.

The LS-400 is light, efficient, and reliable, having brushless motors to eliminate electrical noise, a sealed base to protect against weather and simple operation through a cyclic-mounted controller. Specially tuned white light LEDs allow for white light to be visible under Night Vision Goggles, a first for LEDs, and has a clear, easily steered beam that allows a moving helicopter to find and stay on a moving target.

  • The LED LS400 PAR46 searchlights as direct drop-in replacements for legacy low-reliability bulb or halogen lights.
  • An added benefit of the Multi LED head array and its inherent redundancy is that the LS400 can also be used as a compliant steerable landing light.
  • The hermetically sealed LS400 actuator base utilizes state of the art components like brushless motors and hall-effect sensor technology to achieve a revolutionary improvement in reliability.
  • Specially tuned white LEDs enable the white light beam to be visible when using Night Vision Goggles (NVGs). This allows pilots who prefer to operate under NVGs while using white light to illuminate objects in the field of view while remaining visible to the people on the surface.
  • Gears and motors are enclosed to prevent damage from sand, dust, and moisture. Canopy rated for 10,000 powered hours – no more costly re-lamping. Supports both terminal block and pigtail/connector electrical interfaces.
  • Long life and very low maintenance.
  • Low power consumption.
  • Improved heat sink.
  • Advanced gear train and actuation system.
  • Position sensors to eliminate exposed micro switches.
  • Completely sealed base for enhanced protection against weather.
  • Impervious to vibration. Tested to 24 G (G-Force) levels for significant improvement in reliability.
  • Higher Lumens than the TrakkaBeam A800 searchlight that costs 5 times more.
  • EASA STC, Minor Change Modifications & FAA STC Approvals available on request
  • Pending approvals for helicopters from Airbus, Bell, Boeing, Enstrom, HAL, KAI, Leonardo, MD, Mil Mi, PZL & Sikorsky.

LS400 Steerable Searchlight

The PAR46 advanced and highly reliable LS400 LED searchlights is a direct drop-in replacement for legacy low-reliability bulb or halogen lights. The LS400 has superior LED light output to traditional bulbs, that projects a beam twice as far as previously achievable. An additional benefit of the multi-LED head array and its inherent redundancy is that the LS400 can also be used as a compliant steerable landing light. The hermetically sealed LS400 actuator base utilizes state of the art components like brushless motors and hall effect sensor technology to achieve a revolutionary improvement in reliability.
